4. Characteristics
Separators carry away liquid phase (condensate) at the operational temperature. They work in the following way: the mixture of liquid and gas flows in via the K1 socket to the cumulative chamber. Liquid accumulates at the bottom of the chamber. The level of the liquid rises and results in the lifting of the float. It causes the opening of the needle valve and condensate extraction via the K2 socket outside the separator. After the condensate level has been reduced the float drops and the needle valve closes.
Separators covered by E-CTFE are assigned to chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries. E-CTFE cover is very resistant to abrasion, concentrated nitric acid action, sulphuric acid action, aqua regia 50% action, sodium hydroxide solution action, petroleum action, petroleum derivatives action and ammonia.
The separators can work in extreme acid and alkaline conditions. They are resistant to these aggressive mediums because in their construction we have used acid resistant steel covered with Halar, also the elements of the needle lever mechanism are made of Titanium. In case of using aggressive mediums, during the dismantling of the device, you should pay attention to the small quantity of medium which could still be in the device. It is also advisable to use self protection equipment. The separator should be installed only in the vertical position (as shown on the drawing, according to the marked flow direction).
